Meet the Docs

Dr. Stephen Price

Dr. Stephen Price has been providing chiropractic services since 2002.  Prior to graduating Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Dr. Price earned his Bachelors of Science at the University of Oklahoma, where he was also a collegiate athlete. His interest in chiropractic healing was piqued in high school when he suffered a low back fracture while wrestling.  Even though he followed the doctors’ protocol, their prognosis did not expect a full recovery, and he thought there was nothing to do but accept the fate of his condition.  After spending 9 months on pain killers and muscle relaxers, one of his coaches pulled him aside and asked if he could take him to see a chiropractor. Within 3 months, he was back to normal and off all pain medication. That first experience planted seeds that would eventually grow to become his profession and his passion, but it would take one more event to fully nudge him in the direction of Chiropractic.

While anticipating a career in surgery or anesthesia, Dr. Price worked in the OR at Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, gaining an up close look at the benefits and sacrifices that came with his chosen course of study. He was ready for the challenge, but his focus was pulled once again to chiropractic – this time from an auto accident where he was rear-ended at 60 miles an hour. He went straight to Dr. Young, a chiropractor in Moore, Oklahoma, where he received treatment for neck and back injuries that once again led to a full physical recovery. He enrolled in Chiropractic College and has never looked back!

During his 20 years of practice, Dr. Price has treated thousands of athletes, professional and otherwise. He enjoys ongoing relationships with treating members of the Kansas City Fire Department and the Kansas City Disc Golf community. Dr. Price increasingly uses a “whole person approach”, and his stretching technique has become legendary. His style involves looking for underlying causes of pain, chronic or acute) and recommending physical as well as lifestyle adjustments to ensure YOUR best chance at optimal health. Using this intuitive approach, Dr. Price is able to help each of his patients accelerate and/or maintain their own healing journey.

Dr. Reese

Dr. Reese grew up in the small town of Lexington, Missouri about a hour east of Kansas City. He spent most of his time growing up playing sports. Whether it was football, basketball, or baseball he had the most fun being a part of a team. In his spare time he loved being outdoors and traveling with family. Dr. Reese always knew that he wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, but it wasn’t until suffering a low back injury during a high school football game that his interest was drawn towards chiropractic. After several visits with doctors the only information he received was that there was nothing they could do and injuries like this just took time to heal, however he wasn’t getting any better. After a couple weeks, he decided to visit his local chiropractor and was shocked with how fast he saw results. He was able to sleep throughout the night after the first adjustment and within a week he was back to practice. Dr. Reese decided he wanted to be able to help patients like he had been helped and hasn’t looked back since.

He received his bachelors degree from the University of Missouri in Health Sciences with an emphasis in Rehabilitation Sciences as well as minors in Nutrition and Psychology. Dr. Reese received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland University-Kansas City as well as additional certifications in SFMA and FMS (Selective Functional Movement Assessment and Functional Movement Screening). These tools allow Dr. Reese to identify mobility and stability imbalances during functional movements to be able to design personalized care plans that combined chiropractic adjustments with exercises.

Dr. Reese believes there is no one ‘right’ way to treat a patient. Every patient we see is different, and will respond differently depending on a variety of variables. The importance of finding the underlying cause for discomfort is critical in giving each patient the best treatment possible. Dr. Reese uses a functional approach utilizing the fact that the body cannot fully heal until the body can perform the functional movements we were born with. When injuries arise, these movements become limited and guarded causing pain and discomfort. With the combination of individualized stretching, chiropractic adjustments, and exercises the body will begin to re-learn functional movements allowing your body to have the best chance at making a full recovery.
